For Scouts...

YOUTH

Cub Scouts do fun things with other kids! They get to wear a cool uniform, go places, and see things. They play all kinds of sports and build things, like race cars and bird houses. Want to learn a secret code? Want to learn about wild animals? Go Cub Scouting!

Being A Cub Scout

In Cub Scouting you'll have lots of fun, adventure, and activities with your den and pack. But there's more to it than that. Being a Cub Scout means you are a member of a worldwide youth movement that stands for certain values and beliefs. Cub Scouting is more than something to do. It's all about the boy you are and the person you will become.

For Leaders...

ADULT LEADERS

Cub Scouting's volunteer leaders work with youth and their families to improve their communities by enriching the lives of the families who live there. Cub Scout leaders support the family. They take an active part in helping to strengthen families and their children by providing a fun-filled, worthwhile program that teaches values.

Den Leader Resources

As you gear up for another great season of Cub Scouting, here are some of the basic documents you’ll need to run your Cub Scout dens. We’ve scanned all of our Cub Scouting resources looking for the most pertinent items, then added some notes of our own. You can quickly see what these documents contain without having to open each one.

Note that these are Adobe Portable Document files (.PDF), which you can print directly or send out for professional printing. Many of these are readily available and can be ordered through your district executive at no charge. In your order, please refer to them by name and number.

PARENTS

In Cub Scouting, boys and their families have fun and adventure in a program that builds character and instills values. Cub Scouting embraces the values of citizenship, compassion, cooperation, courage, faith, health and fitness, honesty, perseverance, positive attitude, resourcefulness, respect, and responsibility. These values come to children in all parts of the Cub Scout program—all while they're having a great time with their friends and families.

About Cub Scouting

Since its beginning, the Cub Scout program has been a fun and educational experience concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where youth can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service.

Cub Scouts means...

CUB SCOUTS

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys and girls doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.

Apart from the fun and excitement of Cub Scout activities, the Scout Oath and Law, the Cub Scout sign, handshake, motto, and salute all teach good citizenship and contribute to a Cub's sense of belonging.
