Alex Neimon Named Eagle Scout of the Year

Alex Neimon was awarded the Eagle Scout of the Year from the Delafield American Legion in March. 
He also was awarded the Eagle Scout of the Year from the Delafield VFW in May. 
Great job Alex, we're proud of you.

Joey Neimon Named Eagle Scout of the Year

Joseph Neimon Earns Eagle Scout of the Year Award from Delafield American Legion Post 196

 

Delafield, Wisconsin March 7, 2016. 


It took many years but Joey Neimon became an Eagle Scout on October 13, 2013.  The story does not end there, Joe’s continued commitment to Boy Scouts and his community has earned him the Eagle Scout of the Year Award from Delafield’s American Legion.  Troop 49, chartered by American Legion Post 196 of Delafield, Wisconsin proudly proclaims it has guided 65 young men over the years to the rank of Eagle Scout, Joey is number 57.  This lifetime goal is recognized by the American Legion and it awards members who have met the following Eligibility Requirements. The nominee must: • Be a registered, active member of a Boy Scout Troop, chartered to an American Legion post, AND • Received the Eagle Scout Award. • Be an active member of his religious institution (Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wales, Wisconsin) and must have received the appropriate Boy Scout religious emblem. • Have demonstrated practical citizenship in church, school, Scouting, and community. • Have reached his 15th birthday and be enrolled in high school at the time of selection. • Reside in the department (Wisconsin) to which he applies.

 

Joe Neimon has superseded the entire above requirements.  He continues to serve as Joe volunteer and plays his bugle at funerals for American veterans.  He has worked on many community projects including the Lapham Peak project, the Alonzo Cushing Medal of Honor event, of the Delafield Annual Coon feed.  All these after he received his Eagle Badge.  Joseph Neimon's name has been in several local newspapers about his ventures in our community. 

 

The American Legion is proud of our association with Boy Scout Troop 49 and proud to award him this honor.  Joe will receive a plaque in appreciation of this dedication to our community and Scouting on March 21, 2016 during the regular meeting of American Legion meeting at 7:00 PM located at 333 North Lapham Peak Road in Delafield.  This award also has a perpetual plaque which stays in the American Legion Hall and a cash award to aid in Joe's future educational ventures.

American Legion Eagle Scout Scholarship


Troop 49 is Chartered through the Delafield American Legion Post 196; every year an Eagle Scout between the ages of 15-18 may be chosen to receive a scholarship.  All recipients will have their application passed along to a regional and if chosen will go along to a national level.  The scouts application must be chosen to advance.

All current Eagle Scouts in Troop 49 between the ages of 15-18 are eligible.  The link below will take you to the National American Legion website were you will download the application and fill it out completely.  All applications then must be turned into Mr. Ed Marek and those received will then go to the Delafield American Legion Post 196 Executive Committee for consideration.
